This past Friday at the Frisco Library, I had the honor of leading Shaping the Leader Within as part of Academic Bee’s Enrichment Fridays series.
From reading aloud to sharing affirmations, every moment was filled with laughter, learning, and leadership. The highlight? Watching the kids recite our leadership creed together at the end. Their voices rang out with confidence—it was powerful, and a reminder that children are ready to lead when we give them the tools.
And of course, there was a lighter moment too—a student was fascinated by my bell-bottom pants covered in all of my characters. (Representation really does show up everywhere—even in fashion! 😂)
These events remind me why I write, why I create, and why I show up in communities: to help every child feel seen, valued, and inspired to dream big.
