Read MoreSharon is an award winning author passionate about showcasing the beauty of diversity in children's literaure.
Sharon Jones-Scaife is a publisher, author, illustrator, and the founder of Coffee Creek Media Group, a mission-driven multimedia company dedicated to closing the literacy gap and increasing representation in children’s literature. She is also the owner of SJS Graphic Arts, a creative studio providing graphic design and printing services to businesses, nonprofits, and aspiring authors. In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Sharon proudly serves as President of Teens Reaching Teens, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on empowering youth through mentorship, education, and creative expression.
A proud native of Marvell, Arkansas and the fourth of fifteen siblings, Sharon's early love for reading blossomed while caring for and reading to her younger brothers and sisters—planting the seeds for a lifelong passion for storytelling and literacy advocacy.
Sharon founded Coffee Creek Media Group in 2018 after the loss of her husband, Albert, to lung cancer. In the aftermath, she searched for a book to help her grandchildren deal with their grief but found few stories that reflected their experience—or their faces. That gap inspired her to write her first book, I Miss You, Papa, and ultimately to launch the Lil’ Marco and Friends series, dedicated to creating diverse, healing, and joyful stories that help children feel seen, supported, and empowered.
With over 35 years of experience in design, publishing, and entrepreneurship, Sharon has built a dynamic career at the intersection of creativity, community, and purpose. She is the publisher of Teen Graffiti magazine, a platform giving voice to youth through poetry, essays, and photography. She is also the author and illustrator of Becoming, a visual and poetic journey of self-discovery, and the creator of the award-winning Lil’ Marco and Friends children’s book series—celebrated for its humor, heart, and cultural representation.
Through Coffee Creek Media Group, Sharon has authored over a dozen children’s titles, launched educational materials and merchandise, and developed literacy programs that reach families, schools, and underserved communities.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and Illustration, Sharon continues to combine artistic excellence with social impact. She is also a graduate of The Dallas Mavericks Mavs Business Assist program and several other business cohorts focused on entrepreneurship, leadership, and growth. She has received numerous awards for entrepreneurship and community leadership.
Sharon currently resides in Princeton, Texas. When she’s not running her businesses or creating new stories, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, cycling, lifting, and, of course, reading.
