I’m thrilled to share some exciting news—Coffee Creek Media Group was awarded 1st Place at the 3-N-1 Trinity Services Pitch Competition held this past Saturday! This moment was more than just a win—it was a powerful affirmation of the purpose, passion, and perseverance behind my work.
As a solo entrepreneur, building something from the ground up can feel overwhelming at times. Countless hours went into rewriting, rehearsing, and refining my pitch (even my dog Venus had enough of my late-night practice sessions!). But when I walked into that room, I walked in with confidence—knowing that no matter what, God is always by my side (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Although I thought I might be alone in the audience due to everyone’s busy schedules, I was blessed to be surrounded by love and support. A heartfelt thank you to Pat Parrish, Elma Caballero, and my grandkids—Rihanna, Deshawn, and Esperanza (My Lil’ People)—your presence meant everything to me.
A special thank you to Wallis Bank for the generous $250 gift card, and to the incredible Ms. Darice Anderson, the visionary behind the 3-N-1 Trinity Services Entrepreneur Program. Your leadership and dedication to building people, not just businesses, is nothing short of inspiring.
To Mr. TC Alexander—thank you for staying late, sharing your wisdom, and teaching us how to think, plan, and grow like true business leaders. Your impact was felt deeply.
To Tanequa Stevens, Natasha Mack, Elizabett Moffitt, and Stacy Wright—thank you for your guidance, encouragement, and presence throughout this journey.
And to my phenomenal cohort members—your energy, support, and belief made this experience truly transformational. I’m so proud to walk this journey with each of you, and I’m cheering you on all the way.
If there’s one message I want to leave with my readers, it’s this:
“Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally. It comes from what you do consistently.”
This win wasn’t just about a pitch. It was about purpose.
It was about believing in the mission to close the literacy gap, amplify representation in children’s books, and empower the next generation through stories that reflect all of us.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this path. This is just the beginning.
