Community has a beautiful way of reminding us why we do the work we do.
Recently, I had the opportunity to volunteer alongside Camille of Black Woman On A Mission at Minnie’s Food Pantry—an experience rooted in service, compassion, and shared purpose. Moments like these always stay with me, not just because of the work being done, but because of the people doing it.
I’m especially grateful for Camille’s support following our volunteer day, including her decision to purchase books for her children. That gesture meant more than she knows. It represents belief—not just in my work, but in the importance of literacy, representation, and intentional parenting.

Thank you, Camille, for your leadership, your encouragement, and for continuing to pour into the next generation with purpose and love.
This is the heart of the mission: showing up for our communities, supporting one another, and ensuring children see themselves reflected in the stories they read. When service and literacy come together, the impact reaches far beyond a single day.
